The planning application by the Football Club
for retention of an existing storage container
permitted temporarily under a previous planning
application and for the retention of a container
adapted to serve as a covered football stand
(both retrospective) were given conditional
consent by Chiltern District Planning
Department. The site is in Green Belt, within
the AONB and borders the Conservation Area,
the protection of which all form key parts of the
P&TGRS planning aims. A copy of our
comments to CDC, raised significant planning
and local concerns about the application, was
sent to the Chairman of the Football Club under
cover of a letter from the Secretary, which
referred to our recognition and support for the
aims and activities of the P&TG Sports &
Social Club. In a lengthy report on the
application, considerable emphasis and weight
was given by the CDC planning officer to
arguments about community benefit and support
of the community. CDC’s conclusion on the
application stated, “As such, on balance, in this
instance the benefit of the proposal… outweigh

Courses". A waitress served 3 Course meal and
bar will be laced with huge helpings of humour
from the boys and Uncle Albert.

Spring event we anticipate a high demand for

Bucks MIND has been our nominated charity
this year after the tragic loss of our local builder
Jim Hawes, following a short struggle with
depression. All monies raised from this event
will be added to this years totals for Bucks
MIND and presented to them following Carols
on the Common in December, an event Jim was

Share your Memories & Photos
Village Voice readers have always had an
appetite for learning more about the people and
places in our villages, which collectively make
up our village history. In an upcoming edition of

Have a fright-free Halloween
Halloween is a night of innocent fun for many
youngsters, but for elderly or vulnerable
residents, it can be distressing and frightening.
To help make the 31 October trick or treat
celebration enjoyable for everyone, Thames
Valley Police is working with Chiltern District
Council and South Bucks District Council’s
Joint Community Safety Team to encourage
residents to display posters in their front
windows to indicate whether or not they
welcome Halloween callers.
The posters show either a smiley Halloween
image to indicate trick or treaters are welcome,
or a sad face to indicate callers should not knock
