We have had a busy summer, and now as the
evenings draw in we have already started our
winter planning. The highlight of this autumn is
the third annual firework display, this year being
Saturday 11th November. We are delighted to
announce that this year’s event will be James
Bond themed with the display accompanied by
some iconic “Bond” tunes!! Tickets are on sale
either at the club itself or at Joe Gleesons shop,
prices are the same as last year £6 for adults,
children £4, and under-fives are free. We look
forward to another spectacular evening and you
are all most welcome.
As always this Autumn we are showing all
Fisheye Film Festival Returns
The Fisheye Film Festival is now in its third
year and returns to the village with a charity
fund raiser for Charlie’s Footsteps. At time of
writing, the fund is at £17,497 so whilst that is
welcome progress, it does leave Charlie’s family
£67,503 to find. Details of all the films and talks
in the festival will be updated on the website:
https://www.fisheyefilmfest.uk/home
The show for Charlie will be a family fun
film afternoon at The Parish Rooms on Saturday
14th October. Organiser Bob Digby told VV
that tickets might actually be free this year. They
will be available via the website. “I know that
sounds a strange way to raise money,” said Bob,
“but the Church have made a special concession
to use their hall and I have had special
permissions for short film screenings. I think we
can trust people to donate what they can and
have some fun.”
Last year’s show centred around the days of
Pirate Radio but this year might lean towards
school days with short films about history,
music, maths and looking after yourself in a
“fun timetable.”
For those that remember The Avengers,
