When you want to buy something big, like a car or a house, then you<br />
can get asset back finance from creditors like SA Home loans or any<br />
of the big banks.<br />
Other than the banks vehicle finance arms, like Wesbank or MFC, many<br />
vehicle brands also have their own related finance companies (eg. BMW<br />
Finance).<br />
If you miss payments then the credit provider will take the asset back from<br />
you and sell it to recover some of the funds you owe them, before they<br />
chase you for whatever is left over.
