International Organization Recognizes<br />
<strong>2017</strong> Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine<br />
Festival With 6 Awards of Excellence<br />
The International Festivals &<br />
Events Association (IFEA) awarded<br />
the <strong>2017</strong> Temecula Valley Balloon &<br />
Wine Festival with six honors at the<br />
recent convention. The Festival won<br />
four Gold Pinnacle awards: Best New<br />
Souvenir – Growler, Best Souvenir<br />
Pin, Best Media Relations Campaign<br />
and Best Press Kit. Bronze awards<br />
were given to the KTLA broadcast<br />
and most effective news event/stunt.<br />
IFEA recognized the most outstanding<br />
examples of quality and<br />
creativity in the festivals and events<br />
industry during the awards. International<br />
contenders included such diverse<br />
event organizations as the Singapore<br />
Garden Festival in Singapore;<br />
RedFilo Events, Abu Dhabi, UAE;<br />
Destination NSW, Sydney, Australia;<br />
Ludwig Van Beethoven Easter<br />
Festival, Krakow, Poland; Cuckoo<br />
Events, Dublin, Ireland; Rotterdam<br />
Festivals, Rotterdam, Netherlands;<br />
and the Ansan Street Arts Festival,<br />
Ansan, South Korea.<br />
The Temecula Valley Balloon<br />
& Wine Festival competed against<br />
events like the Sausalito Arts Festival,<br />
Georgia’s International Cherry Festival,<br />
Drum Corp International, Des<br />
Moines Arts Festival, and Sausalito<br />
Art Festival. The Festival competes<br />
in the $500,000-$1.5 million category.<br />
Events with over a $1.5 million<br />
budget compete in their own category<br />
and include the Kentucky Derby Festival,<br />
Indianapolis 500 Festival, and<br />
the Pasadena Tournament of Roses.<br />
The Growler souvenir and souvenir<br />
Pin, were designed by the Temecula<br />
Valley Balloon & Wine Festival staff.<br />
Melody’s Ad Works, Inc. of Wildomar,<br />
the Festival’s public relations<br />
firm, created the award- winning<br />
media relations campaign, press kit<br />
and developed the KTLA and Good<br />
Day L.A. Fox news broadcasts. This<br />
is the fifth straight year that the Festival<br />
has won best media relations<br />
and best press kit. Judging is based<br />
upon measured results which include<br />
advertising equivalent value of the<br />
campaign, percentage of the target<br />
audience captured in ticket sales, and<br />
return on investment for the event by<br />
increased revenue.<br />
The Temecula Valley Balloon<br />
and Wine Festival has won 40 IFEA<br />
Awards since 2009 and competes<br />
against the world’s top festivals and<br />
events. Awards were handed out in 72<br />
different categories in total including<br />
Event Program, Volunteer Programs,<br />
Overall Sponsorship Program, Environmental<br />
Program, Media Relations<br />
Campaign, and Festival and Event<br />
Management Degree Programs. For<br />
