a beautiful tale makes
for a Beast of a panto!
From the producers of 2016’s sensational
production of Jack and the Beanstalk and 2015’s
magical fairytale Cinderella comes Beauty and
the Beast, an enchanting pantomime bursting
with brilliant costumes, bewitching music,
side-splitting slapstick and bags of audience
participation. We’ve gaped at the gargantuan
Giant, now marvel at the unbelievable Beast!
Our story begins as a handsome prince is cursed
to spend his life transformed into a hideous beast.
Join us to discover if Beauty and her friends, the
‘glamorous’ Dame Dorothy Do-It B.U.M (Buster of
Unsightly Mess) and her wilfully witless son, Willy
Do-It, can outwit the arrogant bully Eugene and
his odious sidekick, Pimple, and lift the curse. Be
whisked away on Dorothy’s turbocharged hoover
and engage in a race against time filled with fun,
adventure and laughter!
Soap star Jonathan Wrather will be baiting the
boos as baddie Eugene. The actor, best known for
recently taking on the villainous role of Pierce Harris
in Emmerdale says “doing panto is always enormous
fun. Playing the baddie in one is great fun too as you
get such strong reactions from the audience. Beauty
and the Beast is a terrific story and I can’t wait for
rehearsals to start.”
ENTERTAINMENT
Palace Theatre
The Palace is also delighted to welcome back Tim
Freeman whose performance as Dame Trot in last
year’s Jack and the Beanstalk had the audience
in stitches. He’s looking forward to returning and
says “the Palace is such a lovely theatre with a
great crew! Best of all though are the Newark
audiences who are always up for a laugh!”
With spectacular scenery, incredible special
effects and loads of festive fun, Beauty and the
Beast is a delight for all to enjoy. Don’t miss out
on the chance to make your family’s Christmas
with a trip to the Palace Theatre Newark!
Beauty and the Beast runs from Friday 8
December 2017 until Wednesday 3 January 2018.
