Rand Farm Park
discover what’s new at rand farm park
There have been lots of very exciting changes at
Rand Farm Park since the summer with even more
planned over the coming months.
You can not fail to see and be
impressed by the new Large
Animal Barn which although it
was originally hoped would be
ready for the new academic
year in September, actually
opened its doors a few weeks
ago in time for the October Half
Term holidays.
This new purpose-built 100’ x
120’ building will allow access
to the animal pens throughout
the day adding to the handson
learning experiences
for Residential Visitors and
students from Lincoln College
participating in the Animal
Management courses.
Hands-on activities will still form
a major part of all visits with
everyone being encouraged to
“Look, Feed, Hold and Cuddle”
the animals at Rand Farm Park.
The rabbits and guinea pigs
were some of the first to move
into their new housing which
includes realistic models of
Lincoln Cathedral and Castle
and this has allowed a new Air
Cannon Arena to be installed
in their old penning which
will be themed in different
ways throughout the year...
Halloween, Christmas and
Spring but generally “Randolf’s
Sweet Shop” as a new Coffee
Kiosk with “something sweet”
will be added before too long.
Next will come the
transformation for Christmas.
“It is our vision to become
a major venue for a Real
Christmas Experience over the
next few years” said Joshua
Waring, Operations and
Development Manager steering
the future of Rand Farm Park.
Our Christmas offer in 2016
was well received as we
had added “Decorating
Gingerbread Biscuits with
Mrs Claus”, “Rudi and Rossi’s
Reindeer Feed Station ” and
“Santa’s Post Office” to the ever
popular “Living Farm Nativity”
before arriving at “Santa’s
Home in the Forest”. This year
will see two further activities
- “Elf Academy” and the “3D
Enchanted Forest” with other
traditional games along the way.
“But it’s not all for the children”
said Joshua. “There are
surprises for the parents as
well. We like to offer something
for everyone at such a special
family time. But I’m not saying
any more... The only way to
find out all is to come along
and join in the fun and as in
previous years, there is still the
opportunity to have Breakfast
with Santa as well.”
And then it will be 2018... once
we have all eaten too much
Christmas Pudding, it will be
back to work for the next step
including “Role Play”.
