celebrate christmas present with links to the past...<br />
Lincoln Castle has a whole host of festive events taking place this Christmas. For young<br />
visitors to the Castle, maybe a visit to Father Christmas himself might be just the ticket?<br />
An Audience with Father Christmas<br />
– 16th, 17th, 20th – 21st December. Experience<br />
the magic of Christmas at Lincoln Castle by<br />
joining Father Christmas in the Victorian setting<br />
of the Bath House at the Castle. Sit back<br />
and listen to stories of Christmases past and<br />
enjoy finding out more about Father Christmas<br />
himself. Every child receives a Victorian style gift<br />
and has the opportunity to share their Christmas<br />
wishes.<br />
Tea with Father Christmas – 20th December.<br />
A new family friendly special event. Children and<br />
families are invited for a special after-dark tea<br />
time treat - a visit to the Victorian Prison for a<br />
storytelling performance of “A Christmas Carol”.<br />
Costumed characters along with a host of<br />
puppets bring to life Dicken’s famous tale. After<br />
the 30 minute performance all are invited to the<br />
Castle café for tea when special guest, Father<br />
Christmas, will take time from his busy schedule<br />
to meet everyone!<br />
What The Dickens – 20th, 21st December.<br />
Especially for the School Christmas holiday,<br />
and set inside the Victorian Prison, Inner State<br />
Theatre perform their festive family favourite –<br />
“A Christmas Carol”. Two costumed characters<br />
– Sir Henry Greatham and Lady Lydia will tell the<br />
story of Scrooge in Dickens’ famous tale.<br />

Over at The Collection the fun continues with<br />
a great selection of Christmas activities for<br />
little ones.<br />
Festive Story Times will take place on 21st<br />
and 28th December at 11.15 am; and these are<br />
completely free to pop along to and enjoy.<br />
The popular festive themed Craft Activities<br />
will be returning too and running throughout the<br />
holidays, as will the “Collecting Christmas”<br />
Craft Trail. Both are £2 each to take part.<br />
On Sunday 10th and Sunday 17th December<br />
a treat awaits young visitors as Afternoon Tea<br />
with Santa takes place in Stokes Collection<br />
Café. Tea takes place from 4:30pm to 5:30pm<br />
and costs £9.50 per child, which includes a gift<br />
from Santa. Booking is essential – and you can<br />
do so online at www.stokes-coffee.co.uk<br />
(The cafe and bar open will be open for grown<br />
ups too!)<br />
Visiting Lincoln Christmas Market this year?<br />
Take the weight off your feet and pop into<br />
The Museum of Lincolnshire Life on Burton<br />
Road and their Victorian Christmas Tea Room<br />
for a warm and restful refreshment stop. The<br />
Tea Room will be open from the 8th – 10th<br />
December (Friday to Sunday of the Christmas<br />
Market) 10am to 4pm.<br />
