EASY CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS<br />

Salt Dough Handprint Ornament<br />

Ingredients:<br />

4 cups all purpose flour<br />

1 cup salt<br />

1.5 cups water<br />

Clear Glaze Finish or Mod Podge<br />

Instructions:<br />

1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F.<br />

2. Combine all ingredients and knead 10 minutes. If dough is too dry add a little bit of<br />

water and continue to knead.<br />

3. Roll out the dough to a thickness that you’d like your ornament to be.<br />

4. Using a large cookie cutter, cut out different shapes for your ornament.<br />

5. Have your child/self place their hand into the salt dough ornament.<br />

6. Use a straw make a hole in the top where you want to hang your ornament.<br />

7. Bake 1-2 hours. If your ornaments are doughy, put back in the oven for another hour.<br />

(This will depend on the thickness on how long the ornaments will bake. Thinner<br />

ornaments will take less time).<br />

8. Once cool, decorate by painting with acrylic or kids paint.<br />

9. To make glittery, fill the handprint with glue then sprinkle glitter on top of the glue,<br />

shake off excess and let dry.<br />

10. Spray with a clear glaze finish or with mod podge.<br />
