PARIS SNELLEKSZ was
awarded the principal’s prize for
her academic achievements at the
Hillmorton High School prizegiving
last week.
Paris also received several other
prizes.
The prize-giving recognised
year 7 to 10 students who have
achieved high grades in their
schoolwork and cultural, arts and
academic students.

Technology boost for pupils
THREE SCHOOLS in the
Southern View area took
advantage of a technology
workshop at St Margaret’s
College recently, learning how
to build robots and skills for the
future.
Pupils from Te Whanau
Tahi, Rowley Ave School and
Te Waka Unua came together
to experience robotics, 3D
design and printing, coding and
makerspace.
The aim of the event was
to provide pupils with an
opportunity to be exposed to
a range of technology projects
that allowed the development
of personal as well as technical
skills.
St Margaret’s wants to
provide ongoing workshops
and programmes for students
and teachers from other
Christchurch and Canterbury
schools.
Through their experience,
children have been given
OPAWA SCHOOL children
have created a book to welcome
other children to the city.
After learning about cultures

hometown and what makes it
special.
The result was a book of ideas
to welcome new children to the
city, aptly titled, Welcome to
