Putting your feet first
Health issues can begin from the ground
up. Wearing the right footwear aids a healthy
body and is especially important for people
who spend time on their feet.
Footwear that lacks support (especially
in the arch area) can lead to painful foot
conditions such as plantar fasciitis or heel
pain. Good footwear can accommodate an
orthotic supporting the foot and assisting
posture, also helping relieve knee and back
problems.
Feet First Podiatry offers a full podiatry

is owned by Charlotte Russell who is assisted
by Andrew Hawkey and Laura Finney. All
are senior podiatrists registered with the
New Zealand Podiatry Board.

“Not everyone has a standard shoe
fitting,” explains Charlotte. “Variances in
foot shapes and sizes were the impetus to us
sourcing footwear so our clients could have
fashionable, functional and comfortable
footwear suitable for all occasions.”
Feet First Podiatry’s Shoe Room carries a

both men and women.

where a person’s own orthotics can easily be
fitted into the shoe and the FRANKiE4 range,
which is designed by a podiatrist, comes with
a half and full removable insole and allows
you to insert your own orthotics, while the
Propét selection is available in various widths
and has a deep toe box making it ideal for
people with diabetes.
Look out too for the new Anodyne range –
attractive footwear for both men and women
–expected to arrive soon.
