Take a trip to West Melton and look at the stars. The Canterbury<br />
Astronomical Society will open their observatory in the<br />
evenings for kids to learn more about the universe and stars<br />
around them. The observatory will be open every night from<br />
7.30pm until 9pm for the duration of Kidsfest as long as the<br />
weather is good. Check the society website http://www.cas.<br />
org.nz/ to see if the observatory is open. Updates will be<br />
posted at 6.30pm. This event is aimed at children aged 5-13 and<br />
caregivers are required. Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for<br />
adults, cash sales only. The observatory is located at 218 Bells<br />
Road, West Melton.<br />
