DUNSANDEL WATER OUTAGE
An upgrade to the existing
pipework at the Dunsandel
water pumpstation is planned.
For this to occur a shutdown
will occur to the Dunsandel
water supply from 9-11am on
Saturday 4 March (note this
outage has been rescheduled
from Saturday 25 February).
During this time water won’t be
available from the network and
we recommend you set aside
some drinking water in advance.
For any queries about this
shutdown please phone Sicon
on 318 8320 during work hours.
FLUSH YOUR TAPS
Some plumbing fittings have
the potential to allow minute
traces of metals to accumulate
in water standing in the fittings
for several hours. Although
the health risk is small, the
Ministry of Health recommends
that you flush a mugful of
water from your drinking-water
tap each morning before use
to remove any metals that
may have dissolved from the
plumbing fittings.
We are recommending this
simple precaution for all
households, including those
on public and private water
supplies. This notice has
been issued by the Selwyn
District Council on behalf of
the Director-General of Health,
Ministry of Health.
