Shakila Rani, Principal welcomed the gathering<br />

and presented the Annual Report. Prof. P. S. Anil<br />

Kumar, IISc. Bangalore was the Chief Guest. He<br />

presented an excellent motivational speech which is<br />

very useful for the parents, teachers and students. He<br />

in particular mentioned about the role of teachers in<br />

character formation and intellectual development of the<br />

students at school level which will help to mould good<br />

citizens thus to build a strong nation for future. Mr.<br />

Ramachandran Paleri, Chairman, <strong>KNSS</strong> was the Guest<br />

of Honour. In his energetic speech, he told that he<br />

was satisfied with the performance of the Management<br />

and Staff in providing quality education to the needy<br />

students of the surrounding locality. He also praised<br />

the Management and Staff for their dedicated service<br />

towards the institution. Mr. O.V.P Nambiar, president<br />

MMECT presided over the function. He narrated about<br />

t h e a i m s o f M M E C T a n d i t s f u r t h e r d e v e l o p m e n t p l a n s .<br />

explained about the past and furture activities of the<br />

School. Mr. B. Satheesh Kumar treasurer, MMECT<br />

spoke on the occasion. Mr. R. Mohan Das, Vice<br />

President, MMECT felicitated the Chief Guest with<br />

Shawl and Memento. Mrs. Premalatha, Assistant<br />

Mistress, proposed vote of thanks and the celebration<br />

concluded with National Anthem.<br />

Karayogam Office Bearers, teaching & Non<br />

- teaching Staff of the school, Staff from <strong>KNSS</strong><br />

Vidyamandir, other invitees and parents in large<br />

numbers were present on both days function. Merit<br />

awards were distributed to those students who secured<br />

highest marks in SSLC 2017 Public Exam and prizes<br />

were also awarded on the occasion. The prizes were<br />

sponsored by <strong>KNSS</strong> Members, MMECT Trustees and<br />

well wishers.<br />

LIC of India, through Mr. N.P. Parameshwaram Nair,<br />

Board Member from Dooravaninagar Karayogam<br />

and MMECT Trustee sponsored mementos and<br />

merit certificates for the toppers. Thanks to Mr.<br />

Parameswaram Nair. Students from 5th to 10th Stds.<br />

presented colourful cultural programmes.<br />

Study Tour: Students from Std I – IVth went for a One<br />

Day Trip to Urban Resort on 18.12.2017 and V to Xth<br />

Std students went for three day trip for Shivamoga<br />

sightseeing which covered, Tyavare Koppa Lion Safari,<br />

Linganamakki Dam, Jog falls, Sivappa Nayaka Port &<br />

Palace, Thirthahalli, Malsya Kanya falls, Kuvempu House<br />

at Kuppalli and Ambu thirtha, (Birth place of Sharavathi<br />

River). Both the Trips were innovative, Educative and<br />

enjoyable.<br />

Mannam Jayanthi was celebrated on 2.1.<strong>2018</strong> at<br />

<strong>KNSS</strong> Vidyamandir premises to commemorate the 141st<br />

Birthday of Bharath Kesari Padmabhushan Mannath<br />

Padmanabhan with the active participation of Teachers,<br />

Staff, Students and Dooravaninagar Karayogam Office<br />
