A Study Tour to<br />

<strong>KNSS</strong> Vidyamandir English School<br />
Our School offered a special chance to high school<br />
students to visit a beautiful place Shivamoga. As<br />
planned, at 10.30 pm on December 1st we started<br />
to Shivamoga. We reached there at 7 am on 2nd<br />
December. We stayed in Amma Arcade lodge. At<br />
8 am we had breakfast. After breakfast we went<br />
to Tyavare Koppa Lion safari where we saw Lion,<br />
Tiger, and Deer, Peacock many types of birds,<br />
Cheetah, bear, etc. After the lunch in Shivamogga,<br />
we visited St. Thomas church, Park and temple.<br />
Then we went back to Amma Arcade lodge, had<br />
dinner and took rest.<br />
Next day morning after breakfast we all went to<br />
Shivappanayaka Palace where we saw many<br />
statues of gods like Buddha etc…. old books,<br />
inscriptions, clay vessels and many weapons<br />
used by Shivappanayaka like different types<br />
of guns & swards. Next we went to Sakrebyle<br />
Elephant Sanctuary. We saw many elephants<br />
there including a baby elephant of 3 months (Calf)<br />
named Bharathi & her mother Bhanumathi. The<br />
baby elephant (calf) was very naughty. They<br />
feed elephants dry grass with coconut. It was very<br />
amazing to watch.<br />

Kothanur - Trip<br />
Next we went to Ambuthirtha, the birth place of<br />
Sharavathi River. There we saw a snake. We<br />
drank the water of Sharavathi. After lunch, we<br />
visited Matsya Kanne falls where we enjoyed<br />
playing in water. The next place was Kavishaila<br />
the death place of Dr. Kuvempu. It is on the top of<br />
a small hill Kuppalli. At last we visited Kuvempu<br />
house at Kuppalli. It was very beautiful where<br />
we saw very beautiful things like old books, old<br />
vessel, his glasses, his awards, certificates,<br />
etc… There was a small shop there from where<br />
we bought mementos of the trip. After dinner we<br />
started back to Bangalore. While travelling we<br />
were dancing in the bus and enjoying. We reached<br />
Bangalore at 9 am on 4th December. Each place<br />
visited was interesting. There was no tiredness on<br />
the smiling faces on our return journey. We had<br />
a very good trip and we enjoyed a lot<br />
We are very much thankful to the management,<br />
Principal and teachers for their care and attention<br />
and for giving such a golden opportunity for<br />
visiting unknown places, gaining knowledge. This<br />
memorable journey would not have been possible<br />
without their kind support and initiative.<br />
