ABA Group’s PCP
“A” Team takes top
honours at the ABA
Cricket Tournament
The ABA Group Cricket Tournament
kicked off on the 14th of April 2016 at
the Old Ideal Indian SchooL Grounds. The
2016 Tournament drew the highest ever
number of participating teams as well as
an enthusiastic, supportive crowd who
filled the venue from 6 to 11 p.m. At the
tournament 18 teams battled each other
on the pitch.
The final match was played between PCP
“A” Team and Danah Filicori. Eventually,
the PCP “A” Team came out victorious.
Shedding some light on this victory, the
DOT informs that the Danah Fiicori team
won the toss and elected to bat. During
their 8 overs they scored 60 runs while
losing 9 wickets in the process. PCP A
chased this target and achieved their
goal with 2 overs to spare, losing only 1
wicket in the process, thereby winning
the championship by 9 wickets.
The Man of the Series was Hilal of Filicori
who scored 107 runs and took a haul of
2 wickets. Present to witness the
evening’s tournament were Mr.
Hemachandra, Mr. Imran and Mr.
Iftekhar, who encouraged the players
and commended the spirit of friendly
competition. The winning trophy was
given away by Mr. Hemachandra, while
Mr. Imran awarded the Man of the series
to the deserving winner.
ABA Beverages generously stepped
forward to sponsor the event. The
organizing committee offered their
sincere gratitude to Pepsi for being a
company that is invested in sport, as
well as their strong backing of intergroup
tournaments.

Embassy of Switzerland in Doha
hosted an event to celebrate the
Swiss National Day. The event took
place at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Doha.

Swiss Ambassador to Qatar H. E
Etienne Thévoz, a number of top
Qatari Ministers and VVIP guests as

22nd GCC Squash
Champions express

On 8th may 2016, the President of the Qatar
Squash Federation, and the Vice Chairman of Ali
Bin Ali Group, Mr. Nabeel Ali Bin Ali welcomed
the 22nd GCC Squash Champions, Abdullah Al
Tamimi, and Hamad Al-Amri, from the under 17 Adding to the celebrations ABA

while in the under 17 category, Hamad Al-Amri
fulfilled the promise he has shown as a young
junior player to win the gold medal and capture the
title of becoming the only 4th Qatari player to ever
win a GCC individual title.
The championship saw the participation of the GCC
countries: Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, KSA, UAE and the
host, Bahrain.
The Ali Bin Ali Group strongly believes in being an engaged corporate citizen,
and this is yet another example of our Group contributing to the community
and getting involved in supporting the Qatari youth. Events such as these add
to the growing list of milestones for our Group!
