Division qualifies for ISO/IEC
27001 Continuation
Ali Bin Ali Group’s
Information Technology
Division (ABA ITD), has
proved its consistency and
qualified yet again for the
continuation of its
Internationally recognised ISO
27001:2013 certification. This
privilege has been granted to
ABA ITD by EY CertifyPoint;
the Netherlands based
accredited independent and
impartial certification
institute, on 2nd May 2016 as
a confirmation of its
exceeding competence
covering ABA’s Data Centre
including all operations and
procedures.
ISO 27001 is the world’s
highest accreditation for
information protection and
security from the
International Organization for
Standardization (ISO). ISO
27001 Standards provide a
specific framework for
managing information
security across the
organization. Organizations
that adopt such a certification
can be formally audited and
certified compliant with the
standard.

Ali Bin Ali Information Technology Department
celebrates its high achievers
On 2nd May’2016 Ali Bin Ali Information
Technology Department (ABA ITD) held
its annual awards event. The gathering,
which took place at the ABA Head office
was held to celebrate the achievements of
ABA ITD staff during 2015. Every year, ABA
ITD hosts the event in order to motivate
their team and recognizes achievers under
3 distinct categories giving them a chance
to win the Spirit of IT award, IT Innovator
award and the Customer Service award.
Present at this year’s event were the
management of the ABA Group
including Mr. Mohamad AlEbrik, Chief
Operating Officer-ICT, and the General
Manager of ABA ITD Mr. Youssef C.
I am confident that in the years ahead, we
will see more star performances. These
awards will inspire others to step up and
aim even higher”.
Mr. Youssef C. Moussa added, “These
awards are symbolic of the pride we feel in
our team. ABA ITD has a clear goal of
being the best in the business and that can
only be possible through exceptional contributions
like the ones we are recognizing
today”.
The Spirit of IT award which was won by
Mr. John Sunith –Infrastructure Manager
recognizes the team member who
maintains a positive attitude, strives for a
"win/win" solution for all concerned, deals
constructively with conflict, is fun to work
with, contributes effectively to IT goals and
objectives, goes above and beyond to meet
IT goals and objectives, consistently
achieves high quality results and Identifies
and implements changes that improve
operational efficiency or effectiveness and
is a good team member!
The IT Innovator award recognizes an
individual who produces a program,
product, or process in support of IT
infrastructure, application(s), or user
experience., provides technological
impact across single or multiple
units and applies innovations to
existing or emerging technologies
This award was won by ABA ITD’s
Analyst Programmer Mr. Khader
Abulail.

show their appreciation to ITD
staff. Congratulating the
winners, Mr. Mohamad AlEbrik
said, “ Our industry grows and
evolves at a phenomenal pace.
So we have to push ourselves
to stay ahead of the game.

The Customer Service award was
bagged this year by Mr. Mohamed
Jassim - Systems Administrator
who proved himself as a team
member who works effectively and
efficiently to understand customer
needs, provides service in a timely and
courteous manner, follows up to ensure
customer satisfaction with the service and if
unable to assist the customer, effectively
re-directs the customer to someone who
can provide the service.
