Department holds
3rd Consecutive
Finance Awards Night
The Ali Bin Ali Group’s Finance
department has developed a proud
tradition: No good work goes unrecognized
and every contribution is valued! On Monday,
the 23rd May’ 2016, Marriott Marquis City
Center Doha Hotel came alive with the Ali
Bin Ali Finance 2016 Awards Night.
Attended by over 180 members of the Ali
Bin Ali Finance Community in addition to
the top senior management of Ali Bin Ali
Group, the highly successful evening was a
keen reminder that at ABA Finance truly
values hard work, devotion and loyalty.
Among the award winners were a number of
Ali Bin Ali Group companies. The awards
and winners included External Audit
Category Award won by ABA Logistics, the
Management Reporting Category Award
won by PCP, the Internal Control Category
Award won by ABA Printing Press and the
Cost Improvement Category Award won by
Al Danah. Individual awards won for the
evening included the Process Improvement
Category Award won by Ranga Kumara
(ABATS), Leadership Category Award won
by Azhar Baksh (HO) and Master of Speech
Category Award also won by Azhar Baksh
(HO).
In addition two certificates of recognition
were given to Arqam Abdul Rehman and
Afroj Alam from Internal Audit for their
“Extra Ordinary Efforts”. Unlike the events
held in previous years, Ali Bin Ali Finance
introduced two new special awards. A Life
Time Achievement Award was given to Mr.
Abdul Aziz Bhati for his long service at ABA
which began in 1971. Mr. Mohamad Hadi
Khalifa from ABA Travel was recognized for
winning the Living the Values Award.

A highlight of the
evening was a special
video, which seamlessly
balanced humour and
fact, education and entertainment, shedding
light on “How Non-Finance people think
about Finance”. A collage of interviews of
ABA’s people from various divisions was
interspersed with those of the Ali Bin Ali
Finance team, giving viewers a fascinating
glimpse of the complexity of the operations
conducted by Ali Bin Ali Finance.
The ABA Basketball
League setting the
courts ablaze
12 th May - 2016
On the 12th & 13th of May 2016 the
basket Ball Courts of Cambridge
International School for Girls were ablaze
with a keenly fought Intergroup
tournament. The ABA Basketball League
hosted a championship tournament,
which drew 12 strong teams
representing various ABA Companies.
The 12 teams battled each other to the
end till the top three winning positions
were claimed by the strongest among
them. During the semi Final matches
ABA IA 1 met ABA QQP, and ABA
Partners took on ABA Digitek.
The DOT congratulates the tournament
champions ABA IA 1 team, who walked
away with the championship trophy. In
second place ABA Partners impressed
spectators by scoring some great hoops
and ABA Digitek took a hard fought third
place. The winners awards were handed
over by Mr. Imran with assistance from
Florentino Roque III. The organizers of
the tournament expressed their
appreciation to all who supported the
event and encouraged greater
participation in the next tournament.
