BUDDING GHANAIAN Afro- Pop and<br />

dancehall artiste, Kelvin Boy, born Kelvin<br />

Brown has dropped a new tune dubbed<br />

‘Afrobeats’.<br />

The young artiste’s passion for music<br />

begun at an early age where he started<br />

singing and performing in churches. He is<br />

currently signed on BHIM Nation’s management<br />

and has two singles to his credit with<br />

‘Afrobeats’ as his third song.<br />

Kelvin Boy has unique musical style derived<br />

from his desire to sing and compose<br />

lyrics with everything happening around him.<br />

His soulful side, which he adopted from regularly<br />

singing in church, makes his sound<br />

very melodic.<br />

According to him, he hopes to develop<br />

his music career around these various genres;<br />

afro-beats, afro-pop, reggae, dancehall and<br />

highlife. He plans to study and create his<br />

own unique sound out of what he had<br />

learned from these amazing music genres.<br />

He is inspired by legendary artistes such<br />

as Fela Kuti, Bob Marley and Stonebwoy and<br />

looks to soar higher in his music career just<br />

like his predecessors.<br />

has fulfilled his promise to<br />

dine with top Ghanaian<br />

artistes on his 41st birthday.<br />

Bola Ray, who on Thursday<br />

evening had a birthday<br />

party at the Polo Club<br />

Restaurant in Accra, expressed<br />

gratitude to all the<br />

big names in the music industry<br />

and well wishers for<br />

the support over the years.<br />

Artistes who were present<br />

at the event included<br />

Joe Mettle, OJ, Ohemaa<br />

Mercy, Jeshurun Okyere,<br />

SP Kofi Sarpong and<br />

Samini.<br />

Maame Serwaa signs 5yr<br />

deal with Silvanus Records<br />

Amoateng Benson,<br />

popularly known as<br />

Maame Serwaa, has<br />

signed a five-year<br />

management deal<br />

with Silvanus<br />

Records, a newly established<br />

multimedia<br />

company.<br />

At a short ceremony<br />

in Accra to<br />

brief the media about<br />

the deal, officials<br />

mentioned that the<br />

actress, as part of the<br />

contract, has been<br />

given a car and a<br />

house situated in the<br />

capital city. According<br />

to them, Maame<br />

Serwaa has already<br />

moved in and is expecting<br />

admission<br />

into the National<br />

Films and Television<br />

Institute for her tertiary<br />

education.<br />

Although both Silvanus<br />

Records and<br />

Maame Serwaa were<br />

tight-lipped about<br />

other details of the<br />

contract such as the<br />

amount given her,<br />

Mark Tetteh, manager<br />

of the actress<br />

was sure the deal was<br />

mouthwatering.<br />

On what they intend<br />

doing for the<br />

starlet, Silvanus<br />

Records said they intend<br />

pushing her<br />

brand so she gains<br />

international recognition,<br />

as well as excel<br />

in all her endeavors.<br />
