About The Fountains
The Fountains of West County is a locally
owned and operated senior living community
in West St. Louis County offering independent,
assisted and memory care living options. Each

Julie Sanford. “Every resident has their own

Independent living
The independent living
community boasts spacious
apartment homes,
including one- and twobedroom
options, some
featuring beautiful views of
the facility’s award-winning
courtyard. A variety of programs
are available to residents to encourage
independence for as long as possible.
Included in the monthly rent is a daily
continental breakfast, lunch and dinner,
biweekly housekeeping, a 24-hour monitored
emergency response system, and innovative
and exciting activities. Other features include
comprehensive transportation seven days a
week, as well as 24-hour concierge services.
“Residents are very active,” Sanford said. “We
offer transportation to doctor appointments, a

variety of local stores and, of course, planned
activities. Just recently, our lifestyle director
had a full bus with trips to to Fairmont Park
and a riverboat cruise. She continues to keep
our community upbeat.”
Assisted living and memory care
The Fountains added new assisted living
and memory care communities in 2015, which
offer shared suites, studios, and one- and twobedroom
options for residents. In addition
to three meals a day, daily housekeeping,
personalized resident care, medication
administration and laundry services, The
Fountains steps above and beyond
by staffing 24-hour nurses on
site to provide additional
oversight and care for
your loved ones. The
Fountains’ activity team
schedules engaging
activities that make every
day a memorable day for
residents.
“Our new memory care
neighborhood focuses on
providing meaningful days to residents with
Alzheimer’s and dementia-related diseases,”
Sanford noted. “It is important to us to offer
families and their loved ones options for aging
within the campus.”
Coming soon
“We broke ground [last fall] on an addition to
our independent living community, which will
open in late 2018,” Sanford said. “It will give
residents more options with larger apartments
and upgraded amenities, including washers
and dryers. There will be new community
spaces, including a multipurpose craft room,
card rooms, a social center and a Starbucks
coffee bar for residents.”
The new addition consists of 69 one- and
two-bedroom apartment homes with high-end
features.
