Gen X homebuyers are back big-time
The great recession of 2008 hit Generation
X hard. But now, in their prime earning
years and far more likely to have families,
Gen Xers are back. In fact, Gen Xers are
the largest generation that has children still
living at home, according to Jessica Lautz,
director of survey research for the National
Association of Realtors. And they also
happen to be the group making the most
money these days.
Here’s what’s new in new homes:
The Manors at Pevely Farms: An
escape from the ordinary
Spring is in the air, and there is no
better time to see Fischer & Frichtel’s The
Manors at Pevely Farms situated off Interstate
44 and Lewis Road in one of St. Louis
County’s most scenic regions.
Scheduled for completion by the end
of March, a Woodside ranch currently is
available, but likely to sell quickly. Community
sales manager Kristy Roderick
also reminded spring shoppers that interest
rates are starting to creep up.
Open for viewing daily, the Nantucket II
ranch is The Manors’ newest display, representing
eight designs from the luxurypacked
Vista Collection. The various plans
start from $559,900 and include three-car,
side-entry garages; James Hardie siding;
hardwood flooring; premium cabinets
and stainless appliances; granite kitchen
countertops and a host of other fashionable
amenities. Most ranch plans also include a
finished lower level with a recreation room,
fourth bedroom and full bath.
The Nantucket II displays a sampling of
the custom options available. Highlights to
look for include stacked, glass-top kitchen
cabinetry; a stone-to-ceiling hearth room
fireplace flanked by brick-look porcelain
tile; and a huge master bath with walk-in
shower and free-standing tub.
Offered for $803,390, the move-in-ready
Woodside ranch has 4,064 square feet of
living space, four bedrooms and 3.5 baths.
Landscaped and irrigated, the yard backs
to trees and provides views from the great
room window wall, expansive composite
deck and oversized patio. Inside features a
12-foot, box-beam ceiling in the great room;
stone fireplace surround in the hearth room;
and well-appointed island kitchen.
The spa-like master bath features a freestanding
tub and cultured marble shower
with seat, and the walkout lower level has
an additional flex room, suitable for an
exercise or media room, or a home office.
The Nantucket II ranch is the newest display
at The Manors at Pevely Farms.
