A new site in Chorley, Lancashire, has
taken Bracknell Roofing’s number of
branches throughout the UK to nine.
The company identified Lancashire as a
“hotspot” for both new housing
developments and commercial projects, and
says it has already quoted for a raft of new
tenders and projects.
Keith Moore, Branch Manager, heads up the
new Lancashire branch, along with newly
appointed Contracts Manager John Mairs.
Keith explained: “From my time at the northwest
branch in Warrington, we knew that
there were plenty of opportunities right
across Lancashire but didn’t have the
capacity to develop them, so the
management team at Bracknell Roofing
looked at the feasibility of opening a
dedicated branch. The name and size of
Bracknell Roofing has really helped to open
doors for us in Lancashire, especially with
developers that we haven’t worked with
before.”
Simon Smith, Bracknell Roofing’s Divisional
Director, explained: “The strategic growth of
our business this year has centred on the
North of England because of the scale of
both housebuilding and commercial
developments in the region. These are
exciting times for Bracknell Roofing, and we
are well positioned to support the
Government’s commitment to building more
houses.”
REWARD SCHEME OFFERS PLUS POINTS
A new premium contractor reward scheme
has been launched by EPDM waterproofing
specialist CARLISLE CM Europe (CCM Europe).
The manufacturer says PLATINUM+ is a
premium contractor scheme to reward and enable
them to work closely with its contractors to
maximise the benefits of its HERTALAN product
range for flat roofs and façades.
The five key advantages of PLATINUM+ for
contractors are said to include an additional
discount on trade prices, exclusivity on Rhinobond
and made-to-measure sheets, project referrals
and specification service, advanced product
training and marketing. One such innovative
product included in CCM Europe’s range is the
Rhinobond induction fixing system, which is now
offered exclusively to PLATINUM+ contractors.
Duncan Kirkwood, MD of CCM Europe, said: “Over
the last year we have been expanding our
manufacturing capacity due to the increase in
demand for EPDM membranes. As a result of this
expansion, we can now benefit from production
efficiencies and improved benefits for customers.”
Find a Better Way, a charity set up by Sir
Bobby Charlton which helps civilian
landmine blast survivors, their families and
communities to ‘heal and rebuild their
lives’, has received £2,500 from the Liquid
Roofing and Waterproofing Association
(LRWA).
PLATINUM+ contractor Sam Dove, of Hub
Building Project Management, explained: “I would
like to thank CARLISLE CM Europe’s team for the
encouragement and ongoing help with our project.
I, and my team, have been very impressed both
with the product and the knowledge and advice
given. This has been invaluable as we have a
particularly awkward set of roofs to work on.”

LRWA HELPS ‘FIND A BETTER WAY’

Cliff Weston, LRWA chairman, and David Broom,

Materials, visited the Find a Better Way
headquarters in Knutsford, Cheshire, to present a
cheque to Sir Bobby Charlton himself. The
majority of the donations were raised at last year’s
LRWA Awards and Gala, where a Manchester United
shirt signed by Sir Bobby Charlton was auctioned.
David Broom of Moy Materials’ generous bid won
the signed shirt, and he received his prize during the
cheque presentation. Cliff explained:
“We are delighted to donate to a cause which
helps towards the plight of landmine survivors
around the world. We hope our donation will help

communities living in mine-affected areas.”
