- 6 - Assistance League® of Georgetown Area Operation School Bell® Duties & Job Descriptions for Walmart Activities 2018 REGISTRATION TABLE Registration/Check-in begins at 9:00 am and we stop at 11:15am 1. COLORED LETTER: A. Each student must present our COLORED LETTER they received from their school counselor to participate in Operation School Bell clothes shopping. B. If they lost it, refer to list from school, which may be available at the table. 2. WHITE SHOPPING LETTER: A. This is their “ticket to shop”, so if they lose it in the store it can only be identified if itis filled out properly. They need to present the WHITE SHOPPING LETTER to our volunteers at the registers at checkout time. 1) First Box: Write family’slast name 2) Second Box: Write number of all students in that family they are shopping for today. 3) Third Box: Write total amount family is shopping for: Each child gets $75.00 (2x $75 = $150, 3 x $75 = $225, 4 x $75 = $300, 5 x $75 = $375 4) Fourth Box to be filled in by Shopping Assistant when shopping cart is totaled. 5) Fifth Box are our Designated 3. RECAP: Register numbers, currently 13, 14, 15, & 16 6) Sixth Box will signed by Check-out Assistant at Register. A. Tell the parent they can spend $75.00 for each qualified child. B. If one of the siblings did not receive a COLORED LETTER, they need to check with the school counselor. C. Assistance League provides appropriate school clothing: jeans, shirts, jackets, underwear, and shoes - no costumes, nightclothes, swimwear or “party clothes”. Clothing does not mean backpacks. D. Tell them to have our members in red aprons and the Walmart associates add up their purchase totals before they go to the checkout registers. That amount will be written on the WHITE SHOPPING LETTER. E. Do not tell them they can pay the difference if they go over. They will have to take their additional purchases to a separate register F. Tell them the numbers on the “designated registers” with our ALGA signs and balloons. 4. All COLORED LETTERS will be collected and tallied at end of table. 5. When registration slows down please make yourself available to assist with shopping or adding up items in carts. We should all plan to stay until NOON or as long as we have families to serve. Families need to be in the checkout lines BEFORE 11:30 because the registers close down at NOON!

Ten percent (10%) or more of chapter members eligible to vote may nominate, by signed petition, an additional nominee for an office on the Board, or for a delegate or alternate by mailing such petition together with the written consent of the nominee to the Recording Secretary at least ten (10) days prior to the election meeting. No member shall sign more than one (1) nominating petition in a year. Section 5.05 Election Meeting. The Board shall be elected at the election meeting in March. (March 19, 2018) YOU WILL SOON BE ASKED TO SIGN UP FOR VARIOUS COMMITTEES YOU MAY BE INTERESTED IN SERVING ON. Let us know of your specific interest and skills. Each committee chair will identify the number of people necessary to effectively operate their commitee. Everyone will be assigned to at least one of their choices in committees. Please ... YOU WILL BE VOTING TO APPROVE TWO AMENDMENTS: Change Marketing/ Communications Standing Committee Chairman to Vice President Marketing/ Communications Change the appointed Strategic Planning Committee Chairman position to an elected Vice President Strategic Planning Board position – first year elected by the Board, 2nd year elected by the membership. Golf Tourney Fundraiser HELP!! SHIRT ALERT Bring your favorite shirt to the March 19th meeting along with $10 for the embroidery of each ALGA logo. Contact Bonnie Pearson We NEED GOLFERS ... Please promote this event with your neighbors. We will need volunteers to 'locate' balls on the course. Please sign up to help.
