Getting involved with dressage has
never been easier! From grass roots
to Grand Prix, British Dressage offers
extensive training, over 2000 competitions
countrywide and multiple championship
opportunities designed with the everyday
horse person in mind.
REACHING THE REGIONS
Membership with British Dressage involves
far more than simply to chance to compete
your horse. When you join you become a
member of one of eight BD regions; within
the regions you can take part in a variety of
camps and training days, each hosted with
reputable, qualified accredited
trainers who want to see you
progress. Getting involved
with your Region creates the
added bonus of aiming for the
Regional teams which head
to competitions such as the
Inter Regionals and the Home
Internationals. This unique
opportunity to be part of a team
competition is available for both
senior riders and Under 25s.
The BD Regions boast brilliant camaraderie
and a strong sense of enjoyment all managed
by a Regional Development Officer (RDO)
who will take great care in making your
dressage experience one to remember.

THE COMPETITIONS
Day to day competitions run from
Introductory to Grand Prix however
BD has carefully tailored a selection
of competition pathways for you to take part
in from Introductory and beyond.
Introduced in 2014, Quest Club is one of BD’s
most popular grassroots series. The relaxed
competition aims to bring people together
whilst improving dressage skills both
inside and outside of the arena. The levels
involved are Intro, Prelim and Novice with
two sections to choose from: Under 21 (for
riders up to the end of the year of their 21st
birthday) and Open (for riders of any age).
Join up with a group of friends for the Kent
& Masters Team Quest Championship or go
solo in the My Quest category. In Team Quest,
registered groups of three or four riders will
ride as individuals across any of the three test
levels and the best three scores count towards
an overall team total, with the highest team
total winning the competition. My Quest
follows the same structure as Team Quest
with the rider competing as an Individual,
again with sections for Open and Under 21s.
You can take part in both Team Quest and My
Quest as well as qualifying for multiple levels,
the possibilities are endless.
