demonstrates its breadth of<br />
expertise in the food sector.<br />
“From food and ingredients<br />
processing through<br />
marination, tenderising,<br />
separation, homogenisation<br />
to slicing, packaging and<br />
refrigeration, we have a<br />
large portfolio to share with<br />
our customers,” says Derek<br />
Paterson, GEA head of food<br />
processing & packaging sales<br />
in the UK. “So it was quite<br />
a natural progression to our<br />
theme of the technology<br />
supermarket, simply because<br />
our customers can pick<br />
and choose from a range<br />
of standardised equipment<br />
or work with us to customise<br />
and create complete line<br />
solutions for their food or<br />
beverage plant.”<br />
When visitors arrive on<br />
the GEA stand they can<br />
experience the technology<br />
through the products they<br />
buy such as cheese, meat,<br />
poultry and beverages.<br />

The GEA stand will include a technology supermarket to show its expertise<br />
elements are designed to help<br />
show what GEA has to offer<br />
in equipment and solutions<br />
including technical expertise,<br />
complemented by project<br />
management, planning<br />
and cost control services<br />
to achieve flexible and<br />
cost-effective food production.<br />
On show will be the<br />
DualSlicer, the PowerPak<br />
thermoforming machine<br />
for packaging with new<br />
OxyCheck technology and<br />
the SmartPacker CX400,<br />
a vertical form, fill and seal<br />
solution. The Grasso V series,<br />
an efficient reciprocating<br />
compressor will also be shown.<br />
With its expertise in cooling<br />
systems for industrial and<br />
commercial applications<br />
including food, beverage<br />
and dairy processing, GEA’s<br />
emphasis is on the use of<br />
reliable, energy-efficient<br />
design, natural refrigerants<br />
and energy-reuse systems.<br />

A range of metal<br />
detection models<br />
will be exhibited<br />
Metal Detection Services (MDS),<br />
the authorised UK representative<br />
for CEIA metal detectors, will<br />
showcase various models from<br />
the Italian manufacturers range.<br />
The MS21 multi-spectrum<br />
technology together with the new<br />
FBV conveyor system designed for<br />
the inspection of vertical filled or<br />
jar-based products will be shown at<br />
the event while the IXC data capture<br />
facility will also be highlighted.<br />
Visitors to the stand can see<br />
live demonstrations along with<br />
product testing and evaluation,<br />
says David Hale of MDS.<br />
The company offers technical<br />
support, validation, breakdown<br />
repairs and system upgrades<br />
which are all designed to meet<br />
retailer and BRC requirements.<br />
Also, a 24-7 service back up is<br />
