MONITOR YOUR SLEEPING HABITS
Try and get someone you know to
tell you how you sleep through the night.
One way to check out your sleeping habits
is to record a video of yourself. Make sure
you include the audio, so your doctor can
hear what sounds you make.
USE A REGULAR PILLOW
Sleep with just a single, average-sized
pillow each night. Using multiple or oversized
pillows makes it more likely that you
will end up in a position that encourages
sleep apnea. This may cause breathing
difficulty based on your position. You can
minimize the impact your sleep apnea has
by using just a single pillow in bed.
CONSIDER USING AN
ANTI-SNORING DEVICE
You should get a machine to stop snoring.
Excessive snoring occurs whenever your
airways are only partially opened where a
minimum amount of air can pass through.
On the other hand, sleep apnea occurs
whenever your airways are closed up completely
with no passing through. One device
can help with both. If you have mild
sleep apnea, an anti-snoring device may
be enough to help with your condition.
STRENGTHEN YOUR
THROAT MUSCLES
Getting your throat muscles stronger
is a great way to have less of a problem
with sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a direct
result of a collapse of tissue that
occurs towards the far throat’s back.
The stronger your muscles are, the less
chance they will block your airways.
If you or your partner have excessive problems
getting restful sleep due to snoring or
breathing issues, then you need to consult
your doctor. People really shouldn’t have
to suffer without getting a proper diagnosis.
Feel free to share this helpful information
with others who have sleep apnea.
