KANONKOP ESTATE WINE<br />
Kanonkop is a fourth generation family estate. Renowned for their red<br />
wines and sometimes described as being the South African Equivalent of<br />
a Premier Cru or First Growth. Pinotage makes up 50% of all plantings;<br />
some of the vines being the first commercially planted on the Cape and<br />
most are over 50 years old. 2017 saw Kanonkop win the prestigious<br />
IWSC International <strong>Wine</strong>maker of the Year award, reflecting the quality<br />
of their wines across the range.<br />

WARWICK ESTATE - STELLENBOSCH<br />
Warwick Estate, located in Stellenbosch, is since 1964 owned and run by<br />
the Ratcliff family. Mrs Ratcliff (Norma) had no previous experience of<br />
wine-making but passion, commitment and hard studying has made her<br />
to one of the most skilled wine makers in the country. They are<br />
particularly famous for the Trilogy which is a Bordeaux blend (Cabernet<br />
Sauvignon and Merlot).<br />

This is a South African and American joint venture located in the Paarl<br />
region. It is a partnership between some really high profile wine<br />
personalities with a fierce commitment to quality. This dream team<br />
consists of Zelma Long (one of America’s best known winemakers) and<br />
Mike Ratcliff from Warwick estate and the viticulturist who designed the<br />
vineyards of Opus One. The estate covers 42 ha and is mostly planted<br />
with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.<br />
