CASANOVA DI NERI<br />
Despite being a relative newcomer (founded in 1971), Casanova di<br />
Neri has become one of the most-respected wineries of Montalcino. It<br />
has a fairly modern approach in terms of wine making resulting in wines<br />
with plenty of lush fruit. Their wine continuously receive high ratings from<br />
renowned critics throughout the world. In 2006 for example, the <strong>Wine</strong><br />
Spectator named their Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2001 the<br />
world's top wine, calling it "one of the best examples of the recent<br />
winemaking renaissance in Tuscany".<br />

LUCE<br />
Luce della Vite is owned by Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi and the progressive<br />
Mondavi family from Napa valley. Luce was the first wine ever created in<br />
Montalcino by blending Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. The roundness<br />
and suppleness of the Merlot combines well with the structure and<br />
elegance of Sangiovese. They also produce a traditional Brunello di<br />
Montalcino wine called Luce Brunello, made with 100% Sangiovese<br />
grapes grown around the slopes of Montalcino. <strong>Wine</strong>s here must be aged<br />
for five years, with at least 2 years in barrel and display typical Tuscan<br />
character.<br />
