Seghesio marked its 120th anniversary in 2015 and is one of the few<br />
wineries in California with such long history. At first the Italian family<br />
were known for the good value jug wines but the past 30 years or so it is<br />
some top quality Zinfandel that has earned them the excellent reputation<br />
they have today. In 2008 their Sonoma County Zinfandel ended up as<br />
number 10 on the yearly top 100 list of <strong>Wine</strong> Spectator. And it is still<br />
today a wine offering great value!<br />

NEWTON VINEYARDS - NAPA VALLEY<br />
This Napa Valley based winery is owned by Hua and Peter Newton who<br />
originally worked at the Sterling Vineyard. Ownership of their own<br />
vineyard offered them the opportunity to establish their own<br />
winemaking philosophy of sustainability, attention to detail and the<br />
restriction in the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. Robert Parker<br />
said of the vineyard “All of these wines from their beautiful mountain<br />
vineyard are among the most natural made in the world”. Their top wine<br />
the iconic red Bordeaux blend “The Puzzle” Is named due to its<br />
complexity. Using only the best grapes selected from all corners of the<br />
vineyard.<br />

RIDGE VINEYARD - SANTA CRUZ MOUTAIN<br />
After stunning the world by their triumph in the 1976 Judgement of Paris<br />
blind tasting against nine other French and Californian wines, Ridge<br />
vineyards shot to fame and gained cult status. At the 30th anniversary in<br />
2006, they retasted the same red wines and Ridge Monte Bello ranked 1 st<br />
place! Their flagship wine, Monte Bello, is made from the finest Bordeaux<br />
grape varieties grown in their 19th century vineyards. The winemaker is<br />
dedicated to Old World winemaking methods, minimum intervention and<br />
growing the most concentrated and flavoursome grapes. This results in<br />
silky smooth reds with lots natural rich fruit. They also specialise in top<br />
quality Zinfandel (also known as Primitivo in Italy) and elegant<br />
Chardonnay.<br />
