A LINCOLN High School
student is looking for football
shirts to give to children in
Samoa.
Year 13 student Joe Williams
wants to do some good during
his social studies trip to the
Pacific Island in July.
During the 10-day trip, 21
Lincoln High School students
will be helping out at the
children’s home, House of Hope,
in Apia.
As part of the social studies
class, each student will set
themselves a personal social
action. Joe wants to collect and
donate about 50 football shirts
for the children and teach them
some ball skills.
His mother, Jane Williams,
says he’s a keen footballer and
plays for both the school and
Halswell United’s top side
which plays in the Canterbury
Championship League.
•Joe is looking for
individual football shirts,
any size, from English and
other European clubs. If you
have spare shirts to donate,
please email Mrs Williams
on jpw0803@hotmail.com.
HISTORY COMES TO LIFE : Ellesmere College student Sitiva
baked a cake decorated with the Eye of Horus to accompany
her project on ancient civilisation. Students were given an
assignment sheet with one to 15 questions – they had to
choose five to six activities from those and do their research
over four weeks and present their information in a creative
manner. Students had a range of projects from posters to
mummified teddy bears.
