The expert care and advice that
your midwife provides once your
baby is born will be invaluable.
You will most likely be
encouraged to start feeding by
putting your baby on your breast
straight after delivery.
This may be a little tricky just after
you have delivered. Holding your
baby against your skin will calm
them, steady their breathing and
keep them warm.
You may need to be patient, but
this is all totally normal and your
midwife is there to support you.
