Caring for your Baby:
Bathing
Once you get home from hospital
you can bath your baby straight
away if you wish. However, it's
advisable to wait until their
umbilical cord has dropped off.
Instead, you can top-and-tail,
using a bowl of warm water and a
soft cloth or flannel to wash their
top half and nappy area – avoid
using products (even baby soap)
or wipes until your baby is at least
six weeks old.
It’s most important for your baby
to feel secure and safe while in
the bath. Try to keep bath time
relaxing and incorporate it into
your baby's bedtime routine.
