Silent River Lights
Floating by and by
Drops like tears
Side by Side collide
Curses in Cursive
Written along a purple brick wall
Stone by Stone
they pry apart
HAYWIRE Issue 11 Spring 2018
And I don’t see you anymore
A songbird flies ahead
and dies in the open light
And I don’t need you anymore
A harmony floats
along the lines
Water pulls the melody
Down my spine
But I don’t hear it anymore
Your touch is sensitive
push and pull
and pull and push
and give me all your love
Gliding along my skin
But I don’t feel it anymore
In front of me is a mirror
it’s elegant in its confines
I regard my reflection
But I don’t appear in the light
I don’t see it anymore
And
I don’t want to anymore
And
I don’t need to anymore
I laugh
I swore
So leave the key
