Definition: any__of the family ___, having a
compact body and short legs
by Ella Jackson, 9c
As if,
no,
They do sense my fear,
my panic when when they Swoop down from nothing,
right past the hysterical head,
not bothering to respect my personal space.
Under that bridge, that bench and in the branches
clumsily trooping around
bobbing their heads
monitoring me with those beady eyes.
And, oh, those inconvenient children!
You run into that army unit
and send the vermin
right towards the quaking body.
Those plump, pesky, peeving, provoking poultry
they set my teeth on edge
and make my blood run cold.
Oh, that Flap, that dreadful Flap
They must thrash hectically to stay above the ground
I anticipate them coming and drop,
duck
Pun not intended, for I refer to
The Pigeon
Connotation
Connotation
Your cloudy language
Seems to hide and harbor
Half of your hope
Half of your purpose
Half of your heart
Lingering in haziness
With the potential of lightning.
I never anticipate
A revealing wind
To unveil all things hovering
And obscured
In the air between us.
If only.
