SolidCAM Presents DPS Software with
Global Best Reseller Award for 2010
With more than 15,000 installed
seats of its CAM software worldwide
and a global network of more
than 120 resellers in 50 countries,
SolidCAM GmbH has enjoyed great
success. The company’s biggest market
is Germany, where some 2,000
users are working.
The CAM Competence Centre of
Husky Injection Molding Systems is
expected to complete its acquisition
of KTW, a global manufacturer of closure
moulds that is headquartered in
Waidhofen, Austria, in May 2011. The
purchase represents a logical next
step in a 14-year relationship between
the companies.
Husky and KTW have worked
together to develop closure manufacturing
systems that enhance customers’
productivity while eliminating
waste and improving part quality,
explains John Galt, Husky president
and CEO. But even closer collaboration
was seen to be necessary for meeting
DPS Software GmbH has contributed
nicely to this success in Germany, as
was acknowledged during a recent
ceremony at SolidCAM headquarters
in Schramberg. There, Stephan Terhorst,
the software developer’s German
marketing director, presented
the award for most successful worldwide
SolidCAM reseller in 2010 to Jörg
increasingly high expectations, particularly
in developing the core elements
of closure systems.
Husky will offer KTW-branded closure
moulds as part of its line of fully
integrated turnkey systems when the
deal is concluded, making it the closure
industry’s only provider of complete
injection moulding systems,
including the mould, machine, hot
runner and temperature controller, as
well as consulting and after-sales services.

be involved at the top management
level.

DPS Software has 13 subsidiaries
and 145 employees, making it one of
the biggest product lifecycle management
project partners in Germany,
Austria and Switzerland. An important
growth engine for the company’s prowess
in integrated CAD, CAE, CAM,
PDM and ERP software solutions and
related services is its CAM Competence
Centre. Since the time the centre
was founded in 2000, the competence
centre team has provided
an integrated SolidWorks/SolidCAM
CAD/CAM solution for more than
1,500 CNC machines. As Jörg Rudig
points out, a key part of DPS’s service
offering is the provision of customeroriented
training programmes to support
its CAD/CAM products.

Husky Solidifies Its Position in Closure-Mould
Market through Acquisition of KTW
KTW operations in Austria, the
Czech Republic and Germany are to
become Husky’s closure mould development
and manufacturing centres
of excellence. In addition, Husky
plans to initiate a strategic review
of KTW’s custom injection moulding
division Injectoplast in order to
ensure the division’s future success
and avoid potential conflicts of interest
with its own customers.
