Are kids getting a holistic ed?
Accelerating progress in ‘Rigor’ and
‘Access & Exposure’ will continue to be
areas of focus in the coming year
We made a focused city-wide effort this past year
to push our classrooms higher on the Student
Vision Scale (SVS) across the Rigor and Access &
Exposure strands.
We’re seeing that our efforts have resulted in some
early progress across both of these areas. However,
we still have a long way to go.
We’re also seeing that as we’ve focused our efforts
on getting classrooms to ‘Significant Learning’, i.e. a
4 on the SVS, we’re starting to plateau and aren’t
seeing classrooms move higher – i.e. to a 5 on the
SVS, or what we believe is ‘Path Changing Learning’.
In the coming year, this is another area we will
explore as a city.
