Wednesday August 8 2018 Your Local Views New president takes the ‘chain’ at Lyttelton Rotary Lyttelton Rotary recently held its changeover night at Super restaurant in Lyttelton, where outgoing shared role presidents Donna Heenan and Robyn Struthers handed new president Brian Reeve the “chain” of office A GOOD night was enjoyed by all who attended the changeover, including area representatives from Rotary in Canterbury. Robyn Struthers was presented with a Rotary sapphire pin for service to the Lyttelton community over recent years, especially during the earthquakes. She was just one of the club members who supported the community during this time, but it was an unexpected surprise to her to receive the accolade. The club is in good heart and looks forward to some exciting projects that it aims to embark on in the coming months with new president Brian Reeve at the helm. The focus with a new president is to try and encourage growth in the club, plus more activities within the Lyttelton Latest Christchurch news at www.star.kiwi Harbour Basin as Mr Reeve and his wife live in Diamond Harbour. If you would like to be involved, get in touch with the club and feel free to come along to one of its fortnightly Monday night meetings. At the end of last month, the club began with a fundraising movie night, filling two theatres to see Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which was enjoyed immensely. Probus South Pacific New Zealand director Margaret Drake presented club president Mick Hannifin with a commemorative certificate. The club continues to grow with 10 new members welcomed last month, boosting its membership to almost 100.
