doing illustrations for children.<br />

Catharina grew up in Pietarsaari in western Finland. She dropped out<br />
of upper secondary school to attend a two-year study programme at an<br />
art school in Uusikaarlepyy, after which she studied painting at Turku<br />
School of Fine Arts.<br />
“A few years later, I moved to Stockholm to study photography.”<br />
Catharina could not earn her living by painting during this period<br />
but, nevertheless, painting always remained an integral part of her life.
