people 38 Celsus UK Ltd promotes Mike Keenan to board of directors Celsus, distributor of JL Audio, Dynamat, KICKER, Caliber and Calearo products, has further promoted long-term team member Mike Keenan to the position of Sales Director, a role which sees Mike join the company’s board of directors. Having been with the business for 11 years, Mike is the longest serving member of the team after company CEO Paul Baker and Marketing Director Mark Baker. Mike joined the company back in 2007, and has accrued a vast amount of knowledge and experience during his many years with Celsus, having previously occupied the positions of Sales Account Manager and European Sales Manager, before being challenged to oversee the expansion of JL Audio and Dynamat’s territory across Europe. Mike also played a pivotal role in developing new marine business, started after Celsus took control of the JL Audio brand in 2014. His success earned him Mark Brickhill appointed CEO at Klarius With FMCG experience and time spent instigating growth at both Goodyear Dunlop and Turtlewax in the UK, Mark Brickhill arrives in his new position as CEO at Klarius Products with a strong track record of industry success. Effective from Monday 16th July, 2018, Mark takes the role of Group Chief Executive Officer, which covers Klarius Products, machine specialist KMT and related tools / consumables business Emissco. Tony Wilson, Group Chairman welcomed Mark, stating his enthusiasm for adding “an innovative and entrepreneurial individual, with over 25 years experience delivering record results for UK and international businesses” to the management team. Mark has senior management expertise with proven experience in the UK and across Europe, Middle East and Africa, in both developed and emerging markets. He has managed businesses and organisations in the highly competitive consumer goods market and in the automotive industry; he has previously worked at Procter & Gamble, Goodyear Dunlop and Turtlewax. He is a passionate driver of innovation in products, quality and service offerings with an absolute focus on improvement for customers. He adds, “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Klarius and look forward to working with a customer focused business plan that includes developing teams and people as well as achieving commercial growth. a promotion to Director of Sales, during which he played a pivotal role in Celsus’ ambitious expansion into new sectors, leading to his current elevation to the company’s board of directors. “This is a fantastic personal opportunity to continue my development at Celsus and I am extremely grateful for the faith shown,” said Mike. “I’m excited both to be leading our capable sales team and to be working more closely with my fellow directors to develop the emerging business opportunities that will benefit our loyal customer base.” As Sales Director, Mike will remain in charge of key UK accounts as well as the export arm of business. With increased responsibility to drive sales and profitability, specifically focusing on appointing additional distribution partners in Europe for the automotive, marine and industrial sectors, Mike will oversee the expansion of the UK salesforce in line with Celsus’ growth plans for next 5 years. SOE appoints Bruce McGill as their new CEO Society of Operations Engineers today announced that it has appointed Bruce McGill as Chief Executive Officer. Bruce most recently served as Director of Membership at Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and was Head of Marketing at Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) for almost nine years, during which time he built considerable brand strength and delivered significant membership growth. Bruce will assume the new role on 3 September 2018. “I am delighted to be joining the team at the SOE and helping to build on the firm foundations that have already been established by the board, volunteers and staff,” said Bruce. “<strong>The</strong> opportunity ahead for SOE is huge, but to take it, we must focus our efforts and continue to change to meet the needs of our members. SOE is an organisation that has a positive and meaningful impact on the careers of engineers, and I believe that there is great potential to extend and develop that value even further.” Bruce succeeds Nick Jones, Interim CEO for the last eight months, having been CEO in a previous spell with SOE from 2007 to 2013. “Bruce is the right leader at the right time for SOE,” said Nick. “It was a great honour to be brought back to SOE and work with some fantastically talented employees and a committed Trustee Board.
