What will I learn?
This introductory course will
help prepare you for work in the
construction industry or give you
the qualification to progress on to
the Level 2 bricklaying course to
develop your knowledge and skills
further.

of hands-on practical training and
classroom based activities.

What will I learn?
You'll build foundation carpentry
and joinery skills to help you
progress to an apprenticeship, work
or further training. Practical and
hands-on, you’ll learn carpentry
and joinery techniques using hand
and power tools, as well as health
and safety.
On completion of the course,
you can progress to one of our
Level 2 courses, into work or an
apprenticeship.

What will I learn?
This qualification is ideal for those
wanting to enter the plumbing
industry. You’ll have the opportunity
to pick up some core skills and
knowledge in basic plumbing,
enabling you to progress onto the
Level 2 course.
You’ll cover a variety of topics
including carrying out safe
working practices, understanding
fundamental scientific principles
within building services engineering
and understanding low carbon steel
pipe fabrication work for domestic
plumbing systems.

Electrical Installations

Entry requirements
Two GCSE grades at D/3 or above,
ideally including maths and English
or equivalent.
What will I learn?
In this basic installation course you
will learn about electrical circuits,
systems and installation methods
used to power and light buildings.
You will cover a variety of electrical
cabling systems and enclosures
used in domestic, commercial and
industrial premises.
During the course you will also
study topics covering safe working
practices and health and safety
legislation applicable to the
construction industry, as well as
basic electrical scientific theories.
This course will enable you to pick
up the core skills necessary to
progress on to the Level 2 Electrical
Installation programme.
As well as this you will also receive
a weekly tutorial, take part in
course enrichment activities and
study maths and English at your
appropriate level.
