What will I learn?<br />

This two year programme of study<br />

will prepare you to become an<br />

early years educator. You’ll become<br />

qualified and licenced to work with<br />

children in an unsupervised role<br />

from birth to five years, as well as<br />

gaining knowledge of children aged<br />

five to seven years of age.<br />

You will complete exciting<br />

work experience placements and<br />

get the skills you need for work.<br />

You'll learn about a range of topics<br />

including health and wellbeing,<br />

legislation, learning for school<br />

readiness and professional<br />

development.<br />

Five GCSE grades at A*-C/9-4<br />

including English Language and<br />

preferably maths and science.<br />

What will I learn?<br />

On this course you'll gain an<br />

understanding of working in health<br />

and social care environments,<br />

principles of safe practice,<br />

meeting individual needs and<br />

human lifespan development.<br />

You'll have the opportunity to study<br />

a range of units including anatomy<br />

and physiology, working in health<br />

and social care, physiological<br />

disorders, health psychology,<br />

understanding mental health,<br />

microbiology and public health.<br />

You'll get fantastic hands-on<br />

experience through a supervised<br />

work placement with one of our<br />

industry partners for example, in a<br />

care home or community setting.<br />

What will I learn?<br />

You'll develop upon your existing<br />

knowledge and skills to enable you<br />

to become confident and capable<br />

when working under supervision<br />

with children and young people<br />

from birth to 19 years of age.<br />

During the course, you will gain<br />

an understanding of all aspects<br />

of childcare, child development,<br />

child safety, learning and play and<br />

communication.<br />

You'll undertake work placements<br />

in a range of settings including<br />

nurseries, day nurseries and<br />

primary schools.<br />
