eliminates various copayments for prescription drugs only requiring a $1 copayment for each. The
only item veto was related to durable medical equipment relationship.
• HF 2483 was incorporated in SF 2418 making various changes in the Medicaid and HAWK-I programs.
A number of changes are related to the Managed Care Organizations (MCO’s) administration of
the Medicaid program.
• SF 2284 Medicaid Integrated Care failed. The bill would have required MCOs to deliver integrated
health care services according to the state plan.
• HF 2104 Medicaid Managed Care failed. It would have directed the DHS to terminate the Medicaid
MCO contracts. It was never assigned to a subcommittee.
• HF 2292 Medicaid Managed Care MCO Reviews were incorporated into SF 2418 including correcting
any errors within 30 days of discovery. This bill would have required MCOs give certain documents
to providers within 15 days of denying a claim and requires an MCO to pay 100% of the state rate
for nursing facility residents on Medicaid among other provisions.
