Kitesurfing is a pretty essential sport nonetheless with a set of different kite
sizes, harness, pump, wetsuit, twintip or surf board, eventually it turns out
that one travels full loaded. Well, first of all the upside of a splitboard is that
you can travel light. For example, traveling by plane: we’ve all experienced
the extra charge applied by the majority of air companies on extra baggage.
These charges can come to hundreds of euros and in case of low-cost flights
can even exceed the ticket price. Not to mention the queues at the check-in
and endless discussions with the clerk on duty.
But the advantages of boards that can be dismantled are not only related
to air travels. The reduced bulkiness saves room in the car, especially if
you have a small economy car or a sports car, facilitates the stowage of the
equipment on a boat, allows to get to the beach by scooter or bicycle.
