Through Dec. 31 — Pet Rescue Project
Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando is partnering with
Reed Nissan and Reed Nissan Clermont to stage
the Reed Nissan Pet Rescue Project 90-Day Adopt-a-
Thon. Reed Nissan is holding in-person, in-pet adoption
events at the Orlando and Clermont locations,
during which fees are waived for animals adopted
at the dealerships and at both Pet Alliance shelter

Jan. 26, 2019 — Faine House 5K
Downtown Orlando’s Lake Eola Park hosts the
Faine House 5K, a run/walk, plus a 1-mile stroll.
Participants receive medals and T-shirts while supplies
last, and prizes are awarded to the top male
and female runners in each age group. A post-event
party — that includes two drink tickets — takes place
at Lake Eola Park’s International Plaza. Time: 8 a.m.
Cost: $30 by Dec. 31, 2018; $35 after Dec. 31,
2018; or $40 on race day, with proceeds benefiting
The Faine House, a facility for young adults exiting
foster care and those on the verge of homelessness.

Up UCF
The CFE Arena and the University of Central Florida
co-sponsor Light Up UCF, including 47 nights of
ice-skating, a world-class choreographed light
show with new music, free holiday movies, live
entertainment, rides, an ice slide, a Light Up
Express kids train, and more. There is an “Under
The Stars” Holiday Market on Dec. 15 and Dec.
21, during which guests can see the crafts of local
artisans and shop as well. Vendors can apply for

The Morse Museum
The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American
Art, 445 N. Park Ave., Winter Park, offers visitors
free admission on six consecutive Friday evenings
during the holidays. Visitors can enjoy not only
free admission from 4-8 p.m. but live music from
5-8 p.m. In addition, at 7 p.m. on Nov. 30, Dec.
7 and Dec. 14, the Morse offers evening tours of
the exhibition Louis Comfort Tiffany’s Laurelton Hall.
Admission to the museum is also free Dec. 22 and
Dec. 23 for the museum’s traditional open house.
