Westfield excelled itself once
again with a magnificent
display of community
cooperation with poppies.
Made from a variety of
materials, poppies popped
up through the village and
were greatly admired by
residents and passers-by.
Those who watched The
Battle of the Somme shown
on Saturday evening found it
a very poignant and moving
reminder of World War One
only 100 years ago. Current
Westfield residents had
submitted names of their
relatives to The Wall of
Remembrance at Westfield
History’s excellent Exhibition (photo
below) over the weekend of 3 & 4
November. After years of research
and hard work by Ruth Carter and
Simon Knight the contents are
always warmly welcomed when
shown.
