WESTFIELD GUIDES and BROWNIES
fter their busy summer term the Guides have had a
A quiet autumn making poppies for displays in the church
hall and joining with the Brownies with the installations for the village signs.
We have welcomed 3 new members though still have room for more.
In November we take part in the Remembrance Sunday parade and service in
Westfield and attend the annual Scout Show at the White Rock Theatre.
We are looking at ways to recruit new members from years 6 and 7 from Westfield,
Brede and the surrounding area. Our meetings are on Tuesdays 7 - 8 pm in the
Community Hall, Dining Room - termtime only

The outdoor summer season gave the girls the chance to
complete their Seasons badge and the good weather in
September and October has seen them out in the school
grounds every meeting before settling down to make poppies. Each girl has
shown their skills cutting, gluing, stitching or knotting so hopefully you saw their
displays around two village notice signs.
We all went to a Woodland Fun Day on 14 October to a camp site
at Picketts Wood in Nutley. The girls had the chance to cook on
wood fires, follow trails in the wood, complete the climbing course,
make craft items from natural bits collected in the wood and meet
a group of owls.

WESTFIELD LUNCH CLUB
Westfield Parish Church Hall, Vicarage Lane
On third Friday of each month 12.45 for 1 pm
For all enquiries about meals, to book or cancel call SALLY 754297 also
to book for the first time, giving at least 48 hours notice
Regulars book at one lunch when menu is on show for the next: £4.00
Monthly Raffle
Anyone in the parish over 55, disabled or on their own, is welcome at our lunches.

Rosemary is our co-ordinator for the annual outing and help with transport.
Please contact Sally or Rosemary if you can help: they are looking for
someone of any age to come along to our club lunches to help with the
washing up from 12.45 till 2pm. We are all volunteers and would
welcome an extra pair of hands in our team. We do 11 lunches a year
(not August) on the 3rd Friday of the month. If you feel unable to
commit to all 11 more than one helper rotating would be lovely too.
