Minority Enterprise Development Awards<br />

The annual Minority Enterprise<br />

Development Awards recognize the<br />

achievements of minority entrepreneurs<br />

and business leaders in the Conway area.<br />

The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce<br />

established the MED committee to foster<br />

growth and sustainability of minority businesses<br />

and as a way to recognize minority<br />

businesses and their supporters.<br />

This year’s honorees were celebrated on<br />

October 23 at an awards reception held at<br />

the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center on<br />

the campus at UCA.<br />

Attendees enjoyed an awards ceremony,<br />

hors d’oeuvres, and words from award<br />

winning actress, Rita Moreno, followed<br />

by a public lecture held in Reynolds<br />

Performance Hall after the reception.<br />

Stop Hunger Endowment Grant<br />

The <strong>Faulkner</strong> County affiliate of the Arkansas Community<br />

Foundation is proud to support these excellent programs<br />

fighting hunger. These grants are awarded annually through a<br />

competitive process and selected by members of the advisory<br />

board. Board members present a check for $1250 to The<br />

Ministry Center in Conway.<br />
