Literacy Workshop

Our Secondary three
students went through a
half-day financial literacy
workshop which taught
them basic concepts of net worth,
assets, liabilities, investments and
other concepts related to finance.
The workshop equipped them
with the useful skills of managing
their money. Through playing
the Pinnacle Life Challenge and
taking part in an exciting “real-life”
auction, the students experienced
first-hand how the effective
management of finances involves
differentiating needs from wants,
adopting the habit of saving early
in life, delaying instant gratification,
exercising smart spending, reducing
debt and liabilities, and investing
to grow their money. Together with
the debrief sessions conducted at
various junctures of the workshop,
the trainers helped to consolidate
the lessons learnt at each stage.
The students had an interactive
and fun time learning through play,
and picked up useful concepts that
will enable them to make sound
financial decisions in the future.
