Born in Dallas, Texas in 1990 to an American father and a Japanese mother, Kiko's unconventional yet stunningly<br />

beautiful appearance made her destined for a high-profile career from a very young age. By the age of 12 she had been<br />

picked as Miss Seventeen and for 3 years was an exclusive model for Seventeen magazine. Then, her successful acting<br />

career was launched 5 years later when she co-starred in Tran Anh Hung's film Norwegian Wood. To complete her<br />

trilogy of career success stories, Kiko's journey into the world of fashion design began in 2013, when she first started her<br />

collaboration with Opening Ceremony in celebration of its flagship store in Japan. She has more recently collaborated<br />

with Photographer, Nobuyoshi Araki, and Designer, Yoshikasu Yamagata, for the launch of the first branch of Opening<br />

Ceremony in Osaka. More recently Kiko has become a major fashion & beauty influencer, with 5 million followers on<br />

her i_am_kiko Instagram page.

Currently enjoying a six year partnership with Alfaparf Milano, Mrs. Huyen Huong counts numerous<br />

celebrities among her prestigious client list , She has nurtured a career path that has brought huge influence<br />

to the Vietmanese hair indusry, through her passion for international hair trends. “Kiko has a gorgeous<br />

David: They have different brand<br />

heritage, continuing to evolve,<br />

innovate and thrive; JOICO is<br />

relatively young and energetic,<br />

therefore expect the two brands to<br />

appeal to, capture and cover<br />

different sectors of the market.<br />

<strong>Estetica</strong>: Apart from China, which<br />

territories in the APAC regionshave<br />

enjoyed remarkable growth in the<br />

past few years in our industry?<br />

David: APAC regions covers a<br />

pretty wide geography, our<br />

footprint reaches Japan, Australia,<br />

New Zealand, India and Southeast<br />

Asia, each and every single region,<br />

or country, is special in its own<br />

right. There are similarities and<br />

differences, in terms of market<br />

depth or width or from a prosperity<br />

point of view, so I feel it would be<br />

too narrow-minded to pinpoint<br />

any particular territory.<br />

to interview Mr. Patrick<br />

Zhong and find out<br />

what the championship<br />

represents:<br />

<strong>Estetica</strong>: What’s the latest<br />

news on this year's GCHA?<br />

Patrick: We've received a really<br />

enthusiatic response from a record<br />

number of participants. The overall<br />

quality of the workis also much<br />

higher this year and chossing a<br />

winner will be a close race. The<br />

judges have hinted that for the first<br />

time ever, full marks have even<br />

been awarded in some categories.<br />

<strong>Estetica</strong>: What training<br />

opportunities will Schwarzkopf<br />

Professional provide to the winners<br />

this year?<br />

Patrick: We will provide three<br />

training courses in Hong Kong,<br />

and proximity: the Hong Kong<br />

market has been open for a long<br />

time, so the Chinese hairstylists<br />

have learned new trends and<br />

techniques a bit later, and that<br />

reveals the difference in the<br />

sequence of learning.<br />

<strong>Estetica</strong>: How would you initiate the<br />

training communication process<br />

between the two markets?<br />

Patrick: Communication is always<br />

possible, as long as we can find<br />

common interest such as the brand,<br />

the understanding of fashion, and<br />

the desire to excel in technique.<br />

Such congruence allows GCHA to<br />

build a common platform across<br />

territories, which permits them to<br />

perfect themselves in harmony.<br />

<strong>Estetica</strong>: What’s the secret behind<br />

Schwarzkopf Professional's<br />

impressive sales turnover in 2017?<br />

Patrick: Simplicity is the essence of<br />

doing business; to effectively run a<br />

team we need a simple and direct<br />

methodology. We identify the issue<br />

and divide it into several parts,<br />

then concentrate on solving each<br />

part with persistence in the<br />

simplest way. I guess that’s what we<br />

mainly did right last year!<br />
