proving to be leaders in providing advice
and knowledge base around NUP.
Conclusion
Naonal Urban Policy (NUP) is a tool and
guidance for governments to manage
urbanizaon thru effecve strategies that
comprise element of planning,
implementaon, development, monitoring
and data collecon.
Establishment and implementaon of
cohesive and integrated NUP that harmonized
with the naonal priority on New Urban
Agenda (NUA) and other policies especially in
economic and human resource sector is vital in
order to pursue with the global trends.
Strong, cohesive and inclusive
naonal-regional-local collaboraon and
parcipaon among all levels of government,
stakeholders, NGOs, communies, privates
and other sectors is needed to strengthen the
implementaon of NUPs.
The need to hear of people’s voices and
complaint required to be address with
different medium and technologies available
to improvise the NUPs.
The naon-wide fundamental issues of
implementaon NUPs are finance, experse
and technical aspect, legal framework and
exisng of fragmentaon governance.
The issues on urbanizaon that been raised
are lack of integraon with climate
change/global warming in urban planning,
urban mobility, wealth distribuon, access to
public space, urban facilies and
infrastructure, waste and sewerage
management, social and gender equity and
communies’ parcipaon. There for NUPs
should be integrated or have linkages with
other sectoral and regional policy.
