IF YOU have a Toyota Hilux and you don’t<br />
happen to be driving it, make sure it’s<br />
locked.<br />
They have been disappearing at a<br />
concerning level in the district (see page 3).<br />
<strong>Selwyn</strong> police don’t have a tally as<br />
to how many were stolen in the district during 2018, but in<br />
Christchurch 133 were whisked away by thieves.<br />
In 2017 and 2018, the Hilux was the second best selling new<br />
vehicle in the country.<br />
Older models are being stolen for parts.<br />
So if you have a Hilux, make sure it’s in the garage at night.<br />
Police have gone proactive in their bid to clamp down on<br />
tagging in Rolleston (see page 1).<br />
They have released photos of three gentlemen they’d like to<br />
have a word with.<br />
